"Just keep watching,” released on the 30th of May as part of F1: The Album is Tate McRae’s boldest sonic pivot yet – a sleek adrenaline fueled track that captures the seduction and spectacle of F1. Produced by Ryan Tedder and Tyler Spry, the song blends pulsing club beats, quick twitch percussion additionally minimalist synths to mirror the rhythm of a high-speed chase. The chorus hits like a gear shift with McRae’s breathy vocals commanding: “Eyes on me, arching my back … You ain’t buying in? Just keep watching.” The Bardia Zeinali directed music video leans into the F1 aesthetic with runway struts, tyre stacks and racing inspired choreography, intercut with scenes from the newly released F1 film. It’s a visual metaphor for control, allure and velocity. The track debuted at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100, hit #1 on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart and reached the Top 10 in over a dozen countries, including #2 in Ireland plus #5 in Australia with the addition of New Zealand.

The track’s standout line “eyes on me, arching my back … you ain’t buying in? Just keep watching” isn’t just flirtatious, it’s a challenge. McRae positions herself as both the object and director of attention, flipping the gaze into a tool of power. The repetition of “just keep watching” in the chorus becomes a mantra, reinforcing her dominance and inviting the listener to observe rather than question. Produced by Ryan Tedder and Tyler Spry, the song’s rhythmic elasticity as well as minimalist beat hint at Afropop with the addition of Amapiano influences likely a remnant of an earlier leaked version featuring South African artist Tyla. While Tyla’s vocals didn’t make the final cut, her sonic fingerprint lingers in the syncopated percussion and sultry groove giving the track a global pop sheen. The song’s structure builds from a simmering verse to a booming, hypnotic chorus mirroring the rhythm of a race with tension, release and acceleration. It’s a perfect fit for F1: The Album capturing the glamour, danger and allure of motorsport through a pop lens.
